Call For A 9-11 Fallen Heroes Remembrance

OUR MISSION: That the 343 firefighters, 37 police officers of the PAPD and the 23 police officers of the NYPD, and all other uniformed rescue workers killed on 9-11, during rescue operations at the World Trade Center, be appropriately remembered, as part of the greater memorial. We ask that their names, along with rank, badge number and unit, be listed alphabetically, by department, just as they would want it.  And that the memorial includes language that clearly acknowledges their sacrifice.

The Lower Manhattan Development Corporation (LMDC), which is headed by Governor George Pataki, is responsible for developing the memorial at the World Trade Center.  On April 10, 2003 the LMDC board of directors unanimously adopted, as part of its memorial competition guidelines, a controversial resolution stating, "...that the World Trade Center site memorial will honor the loss of life equally and the contributions of all without establishing any hierarchies."

We will never forget...

In other words, the bravery and sacrifice of the uniformed rescue workers who gave their lives on September 11th, trying to save those equally precious souls who were trapped in the towers, will not be acknowledged.
New York's fallen heroes of the FDNY, PAPD, NYPD (and EMS), must be distinguished at the World Trade Center, the site of the three departments greatest sacrifice ever, so that, as in the often repeated words of the Governor of New York, George Pataki, and many other politicians, "that these heroes will never be forgotten."

We owe it to our future generations who visit the site, whether it is in 10 years, 50 years, a hundred years, whenever, to make sure they will immediately appreciate the magnitude of the heroes sacrifice.

As Americans, it is our responsibility to make sure they are never forgotten. What they did on 9-11 was special. They gave their lives, and in the process saved many, many thousands of lives.

We are appealing to our fellow New Yorkers and fellow Americans across the United States, including our most influential citizens, to lend us their support and active help, in correcting this grave insult to our fallen heroes and their loved ones.
